Second position is a way of experiencing in which an inner observer appears and a stable mediated relationship to oneself and the world is formed: a person observes, evaluates, and reacts rather than acts directly. In this mode a person is not a subject, interaction with the world is reactive, and the author position is inaccessible. Second position is the opposite of first position.
