A 1st-level imprint is a particular kind of imprint: a fixed bodily-emotional reaction that arose from a specific experience and became fixed at the level of perceptual submodalities (tension, contraction, impulse, avoidance, and so on). It manifests as an automatic reaction to particular triggers, but does not determine a person’s overall way of living.
