Submodalities are parameters organizing experience within a sensory modality: brightness and contrast of an image, volume and timbre of a sound, temperature or pressure of a bodily sensation. The term is used in НЛП and describes structural characteristics of experience, changes in which alter subjective feeling. A specific configuration of submodalities forms a submodal state.
